Dr. Rex D. Smith has been practicing podiatry at his office in Eugene since 1981. He graduated from California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1978. After a year of residency training in California, he joined the staff of Atlanta Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia for two more years of intensive surgical residency.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board Of Podiatric Surgery certified in Foot and Ankle Surgery, a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, and a past president of the Oregon Podiatric Medical Association. He is on staff at several major hospitals in Oregon, including Sacred Heart RiverBend and McKenzie-Willamette in Springfield.
After over 35 years in practice, Dr. Smith has recently retired. We wish him the best of luck in this new chapter of his life, and thank him for all he has done for us and the community over the years. He will be greatly missed!
Dr. Scott W. Robertson grew up in Oregon City. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona in 2012. He then completed a three year surgical residency at United Health Services in Johnson City, New York.
During residency training he had the opportunity to complete a two-month rotation at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, as well as a mini-fellowship in podiatric dermatology-dermopathology at Bako Integrated Physician Solutions in Alpharetta, Georgia.
He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and Oregon Podiatric Medical Association. He is on staff at Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend.
Scott has been married to his wife over 15 years and they have a set of triplets. They live on a small “gentleman’s farm” with a variety of animals. Scott enjoys spending time outdoors, and is the Scoutmaster of a local Boy Scout troop.
Dr. Ernest E. Sorenson grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended Southern Utah University, graduated from the University of Utah, and did graduate studies at Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio. He then received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine (KSUCPM) in 2014. After medical school he completed a 3 year surgical residency through Henry Ford Health System in Wyandotte, Michigan.
During residency he was exposed to a significant amount of wound care, hammertoe, bunions, and soft tissue procedures. He was also trained in reconstructive rearfoot surgery techniques and was exposed to ankle and heel trauma and ankle scopes.
Ernie is a member of the OPMA, APMA, and has been a member of ACFAS as well. He is on staff at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend
Ernie enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 children, great food, and participating in outdoor activities, including running. He is glad to be in our beautiful state of Oregon. He has enjoyed going to the coast and checking out other local scenery.
